It is the responsibility of the Churchwardens (‘wardens’) of each Church in the Parish and the Parish Council in co-operation with the Parish Priest to look after and administer all Parish property1.
The wardens are responsible for confirming that finance is available to carry out the property strategy and that all parish business is conducted appropriately. Wardens and Parish Council must endeavour to make adequate provision for the maintenance of Parish buildings when formulating Parish budgets2.
Any significant alterations or refurbishments to parish property requires initial approval from the Bishop and the APT3. On approval, an application needs to be made to the APT before works can proceed4.
