Step 1: Planning
- Define the scope and objectives of the building work.
- Conduct initial consultations with stakeholders, including wardens and relevant committees.
- Develop a preliminary budget and timeline.
Step 2: Approvals
- Obtain all necessary internal approvals from the parish or diocesan body.
- Secure any required external approvals, such as council permits or other regulatory consents.
Step 3: Preparing and Signing the Contract
- For maintenance and repair works that are not considered significant alterations or refurbishments, wardens have delegated authority to sign contracts directly.
- For works of significant alterations or refurbishments, building contracts to the Anglican Property Trust (APT) for execution, following the guidelines outlined in this guide.
Step 4: Contract Administration
- Monitor the progress of the building work in line with the agreed scope, timeline, and budget.
- Engage an architect, project manager, or other contractors as needed.
- For contracts related to significant alterations or refurbishments, the APT must also execute agreements with these parties.
